## Pricing & licensing

**Is Wallper free?**
Wallper has a free, downloadable wallpaper library and a 7-day free trial that unlocks all Pro features. After the trial, Wallper Pro is required to keep using the live wallpaper engine.

**How much does Wallper Pro cost?**
$9.99 USD as a one-time purchase. The price is shown in your local currency at checkout. There is no subscription.

**Does Wallper require a subscription?**
No. It's a one-time purchase with no recurring fees.

**How many Macs can I use my license on?**
Up to **3 personal Macs** per license. The license is bound to hardware (HWID), not an Apple ID.

**What is the refund policy?**
14-day no-questions-asked refund. Email support@wallper.app from the address used at checkout.

**Where is my license key?**
Displayed right after purchase **and** sent to the email you used at checkout.

## Platform & install

**Which versions of macOS are supported?**
macOS 14.6 or newer. Live **Lock Screen** wallpapers additionally require macOS 26 (Tahoe) or newer.

**Does Wallper work on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs?**
Yes — universal binary, runs natively on M1/M2/M3/M4 and Intel.

**Is Wallper on the Mac App Store?**
No. Wallper uses system-level features that aren't allowed on the App Store. Download it from https://wallper.app.

**Is Wallper safe to install?**
Yes — the app is notarized by Apple.

**Do I need an account?**
No. No sign-up, no login.

**Does Wallper work offline?**
Yes. Internet is only needed to browse / download new wallpapers. Once a wallpaper is applied, it plays offline.

**How do I uninstall Wallper?**
Quit the app, drag `Wallper.app` from `/Applications` to Trash. macOS restores your default wallpaper. Optional cleanup: `~/Library/Application Support/Wallper`, `~/Library/Preferences/app.wallper.plist`.

## Performance & battery

**Will Wallper slow down my Mac?**
No measurable impact for typical use. CPU usage stays in low single digits for 4K HEVC on Apple Silicon thanks to hardware decoding.

**Does Wallper drain my MacBook battery?**
Minimally. By default, Wallper pauses on battery and resumes when plugged in. With playback always on, the extra power draw is roughly 1–3% vs a static wallpaper.

**Does Wallper pause itself?**
Yes — it pauses on full-screen apps, when the display sleeps, when CPU load goes above ~80%, and (optionally) on battery.

## Features

**Can I use my own videos as wallpapers?**
Yes. Drag any `.mp4` file into the app. It appears in your personal library; it is **not** uploaded anywhere unless you explicitly submit it to the community gallery. Other containers like `.mov` or `.hevc` need to be converted to `.mp4` first.

**Can I upload wallpapers to the community gallery?**
Yes — directly from the app, no account required. Submissions are manually reviewed before publication.

**Can I set different wallpapers per monitor?**
Yes. Each connected display gets its own slot in the app, with smart resolution matching.

**Does Wallper support ultrawide / 32:9 monitors?**
Yes. Many wallpapers ship with 21:9 (3440×1440, 5120×2160) and 32:9 (5120×1440) variants. When a 32:9 master isn't available, Wallper can span a 21:9 file across two 16:9 displays.

**Does Wallper work with the lock screen?**
Yes. On macOS 26+ live video plays on the lock screen via Apple's native pipeline. On older versions a representative frame is used as a static lock-screen background. Setup guide: https://www.wallper.app/support/lockscreen

**Does Wallper support screensavers?**
Yes — any wallpaper can be installed as a native macOS screensaver.

**Does Wallper sync with music?**
Yes. Wallpapers can react in real time to **Spotify** and **Apple Music** playback.

**Can wallpapers change automatically?**
Yes — set a rotation schedule in Preferences.

**Do wallpapers play sound?**
Muted by default. Some wallpapers include an audio track that you can enable per wallpaper.

**What resolutions are supported?**
Up to 8K, optimized for Retina, Studio Display, and Pro Display XDR.

**What file formats does Wallper support?**
MP4 for live wallpapers (H.264 or HEVC inside an `.mp4` container); JPG, PNG, HEIC for static. `.mov`, `.hevc`, animated GIFs and other formats need to be converted to MP4 first.

**How big are wallpaper files?**
Typically 20–80 MB for 10–30 second 4K loops (HEVC / AV1).

**Can I delete downloaded wallpapers?**
Yes — anytime from the app. They live under `~/Library/Application Support/Wallper/Downloads`.

## Library & catalog

**Where do I download 4K wallpapers for Mac?**
Directly from https://wallper.app — the gallery page lists every wallpaper with its available resolutions and aspect ratios.

**Are the wallpapers free?**
Yes — the gallery is free to download for personal use. Pro is only needed to use them as live wallpapers.

**How often are new wallpapers added?**
A few new wallpapers go live every week, with larger themed drops monthly.

**How is Wallper different from the Aerial screensaver?**
Aerial is a screensaver that plays Apple's curated footage when your Mac is idle. Wallper is an active desktop background that plays any supported file — yours or from the Wallper library — and runs on the lock screen and as a screensaver too.

**Can I use a YouTube video as a wallpaper?**
Not directly. Download the video as an MP4/MOV (only if you have the rights to it) and import it into Wallper.

## Support

**How do I contact support?**
Email support@wallper.app or use **Help → Send Feedback** in the app (it pre-fills diagnostic logs). Replies usually within 24 hours on business days.

**Why is loading slow?**
Servers are currently in Europe — load times can be longer if you're far away. Once a wallpaper is downloaded, playback is instant.

**Why don't I see Wallper in System Settings → Wallpaper?**
Enable "Use Lock Screen & Screensaver" in Wallper Settings, then set a wallpaper again. The Wallper section will appear automatically. Full guide: https://www.wallper.app/support/lockscreen
